Recently a consumers affair programme on Danish TV put the Christiania tricycle, the Nihola tricycle and the new Trio tricycle to the test. You can see the programme here.
The three tests (by mothers and kids, by a mechanic and by professional cyclist) yielded a clear winner: the Christiania was favoured for its roominess, its manoevrability, its simple and solid construction and reliability. Interestingly, children seem to prefer the somewhat more spartan interior of the Christiania cargo box to the more curvy compartments of the ‘designer trikes’.
The Christiania in the image (by Zakka) is one of seven used by a Copenhagen kindergarten to transport children. Many other kindergartens in the city have tricycles.

I saw my first one in Parsons Green a couple of weeks ago, a mum was taking her two kids out, on my way to an event. Nice looking bike and very sturdy.
