Childless residents are complaining that the pavements are covered with big bikes. My opinion: Its true, the bikes shouldn’t be crowding pedestrians on the pavements. They should be crowding cars off the streets!”

and this really makes sense.

Exactly.. the bikes should be on the streets with the cars. In the city where I live in the U.S., the bikes must ride only on the street.

Development of digital technologies occurs prompt rates. Does not lag behind progress and digital TV. Speaking about digital TV, we first of all mean satellite TV. The digital satellite TV becomes more and more accessible to simple users. The market paid satellite tv also is not necessary on a place. The new digital standard of TV of high clearness HDTV actively develops and takes root. The satellite TV becomes more and more directed on the spectator. Besides digital quality of the image, advantage of satellite systems also is also the extensive cover zone of the companion.

It was recently published (I can't remember where but could look it up if needed) that the modal share of cycling in Amsterdam rose to over 50% in 2007 and has been steadily climbing for years. Nationwide the Netherlands is about 35%. Groningen, a city of about 180,000 is the star at over 60% modal share for cycling... and climbing. That's apparently the highest in the world, though who's to say there aren't still a few cities in China that could score higher.

In related news, some towns in the Netherlands have been responding to the overflow of cargo-bikes with special parking areas, generally taken from car parking spots on the street.

-Henry

http://www.bakfiets-en-meer.nl
