Since January this year, the Brompton S Bag has featured a removable flap, affixed by Velcro; here are the first two designs:

Hose Flap – £45

Made exclusively for Brompton by Elvis & Kresse, this product is part of their pioneering fire hose range, made from salvaged, decommissioned fire hoses that have been fighting fires for up to 30 years. Fire hoses offer a unique, durable and waterproof material, and their re-use saves them from landfill. All the packaging, labels and linings are also made from reclaimed materials such as old tea and coffee sacks and parachute silk. 50% of profits are donated to charities related to the waste streams.

Flap Jack – £35

Available as a limited edition print of just 300, the Flap Jack is made from truck vinyl on fabric and features a specially-commissioned design that incorporates the Union Jack and images of the Brompton. It is finished with a reflective trim.

Both are solely available as after-market purchases, i.e. S Bags cannot be configured with these flaps at the point of order.
