In 1985, when Andrew Ritchie was perfecting the Mark 2 Brompton, and thus showing that a folding bicycle could deliver a good ride (read more in the Brompton Bicycle Book), a few kilometres away, Mark Sanders was putting the final touches to his Master Thesis at the Royal College of Arts and introducing another British folding bike icon, the Strida.

Mark has now uploaded his thesis and an early business plan online.
