We have a customer who recently arrived home, turned around and his bag with laptop had disappeared. He traced his route, trying to remember how much stuff he had not backed up, and fortunately he found the bag five minutes later; next morning he was at our shop buying a Basil front rack: this way he can keep an eye on his bag all the time. If your bike cannot accommodate a front rack, here is a good option: this laptop case by Ultra Motor [...]
A couple of ideas to pass to your office manager: A few days ago Cyclehoop installed a new ramp up the staircase of our new shop. Like a lot of Cyclehoop products the ramp is a brilliantly simple idea and it looks great. It has also made negotiating the stairs with a massive bike a piece of cake. We also have some new cycle stands. Each one holds up to five bikes and can be bolted to the floor. Very good value at £85.
I genuinely love these new hi-viz Fahrer Band leg straps in our shop. They look great and they are upcycled. Upcycling has nothing to do with climbing up a hill in the Highbury area on your Brompton by the way. Upcycling is about converting waste materials into new products of better quality. These particular leg straps are made out of recycled billboards, truck tarpaulins and boat covers. They are also handmade in a factory run by disabled people in Berlin. In short they are both incredibly [...]
In a letter to Danny, the Transport spokesman for the Conservatives at the London assembly, Richard Tracey writes: However it is important to be clear that many Londoners do not have unlimited choice over which mode they use to travel. Whilst we strongly support those who have the choice choosing to cycle, there are those for whom cycling is not feasible. The introduction of a road user hierarchy penalises those, such as parents with young children, whose personal circumstances might be less suited to cycling. [...]
On Thursday, New Yorkers made fun of mullah-cops who stopped VanMoof Marketing Manager Jasmijn (having the last laugh below) for riding her bike with a short skirt, by organising a city jaunt. Pictures by Julie: Reminds me of this image that has been our postcard for the past few years: Laughter is the best medicine.
A common request: a classic looking, lightweight woman’s bike. We recommend: The Kemper Mixte The Electra Ticino The Cooper Oporto (coming in August)

The Battle of Blackfriars is turning nastier. Last week, London Assembly members were asked to vote on a motion to keep the 30km/h speed limit on Blackfriars bridge. The ten Conservatives above walked out of the chamber killing the motion. One can only assume that they intended to vote against but were afraid to be counted as enemies of road safety. With all respect to our swine friends, these slimy Tories, who refuse to make London safe and friendly to pedestrians and cyclists, deserve the [...]
