Henny van Nistelrooy, the designer of our new shop, is featured in the Guardian in this review of Design Week. From Henny’s website: ‘Revolver’ is a shelving system developed as part of a retail design commission for Velorution, a specialist bicycle shop in central London. Due to its subtle elegance and great flexibility to display both objects and garments, this shelving system is ideal for either public or domestic environments. The cantilever system works by simply hooking shelves one above the other into the frame, [...]

Everyone knows that some kind of headgear is important when cycling in the cold. There are plenty of solutions out there – from beanies to balaclavas (a touch extreme, granted). However, I would argue if you want to look stylish and keep your head really warm you can’t do much better than a Swrve Winter cycling cap. It’s made from two layers of merino wool that should keep you warm during even the chilliest ride. If you are looking for something a bit more light [...]
The launch of the Brompton Oratory Jacket has caused something of a stir in the cycling world. The jacket is supposed to solve the bike clothing dilemma – taking you from bike to boardroom to bar. Yet since when is a crumpled beige jacket, asks Tom Robbins of the Financial Times, appropriate for the boardroom? Equally – Copenhagenize has quite convincingly argued that if you are riding an appropriate bike on the right of infrastructure any clothes will do. Nevertheless the jacket did win Gold [...]
Sexy over-shoes designed by a sexy lady in Ireland. If you do have an aversion to grey goretex,  ‘Leggits‘  maybe just for you. Like many of Georgia in Dublin products, Leggits marry practicality with style. Their great design has also won Georgia official recognition – her Leggits won a Eurobike/iF Design Award this year.
Morvelo are a Brighton based brand who create brilliant hand-printed T-shirts for cyclists. We now have a rare, limited edition ‘Belle in Selle’ T-Shirt in store at the moment. ‘Bella in Sella’ is a famous Italian cycling phrase meaning ‘looking good on the saddle’.  Anyone cycling around in this T-shirt is definitely going to fulfill that description.
We now have Water off a Ducks Back’s new ladies jacket in store. Stylish and appropriate for the days we have been having lately. While the jacket is tapered in at the waist, Antonia the designer  has made sure there is plenty of freedom for arm movement. The cuffs and collar can be turned around to reveal reflective strips to make you that bit more visible on the road. A great, practical purchase, £79.
We now have a fantastic German cycling magazine, Fahrstil in stock.  It resembles The Ride Journal, with a mix of articles about all aspects of cycling. The  latest issue promises an irreverent look at the ‘ass’. David Kossman, editor in chief explains, ‘The ass has up to this point been rather neglected by journalists and its significance for cycling and riders has not been discussed’. We also have back issues in stock (pun unintended).
Is there anything that makes people smile more than a bicycle made for two? Probably not. Everyone’s knows that a tandem is just about the most charming form of transport out there. However, the Circe Helios Tandem is not only charming but unbelievably practical. The range opens up the possibilities of Tandem riding, child carrying and load carrying. Any of the models can be converted to any of these uses with the help of a few accessories. So now you know. Tandems, while still charming, [...]
Continuing our discussion of how to prepare for autumn I think we are going to have to talk about how the evenings are beginning to draw in. Lets face it, if you commute back in the evening you are eventually going to have to invest in some bike lights. Okay so which ones to go for? Well there’s a dizzying choice but these new wearable Knog boomer lights are worth a mention. They are like the excellent Knog Boomer except they clip onto your clothes. [...]
