Airnimal has expanded the options available on the Joey, the foldable fast commuter that can be easily taken out for a 100k week-end ride.
There are now four models:
‘Sport’ – The original. 8 speed Shimano Alivio derailleur.
‘Commute’ – The versatile commuter. Using Shimano’s 8 speed Nexus, the gear range is wider and lower at the top end than the ‘Sport’. The 24” (507) wheels give the bike a solid feel and increase the choice of wider profile tyres. RRP £750.

The Airnimal Joey
Airnimal have only been around since 1999 but are one of the field leaders for fast, portable bikes.

Strida inventor Mark Sander alerts us that Pacific Cycles, a Taiwanese company that also produces Airnimal and Birdy frames, will build Mark’s full-size folder, the Swivel-Head (above). Not only it folds quickly and compact, but, like the Strida, you can also wheel it folded.
On the other size spectrum, Pacific also makes the Carry-me, an 8″-wheel micro-bike that rides astonishingly well. We will stock it in a few weeks.
