Birdy Speed
Total:
£100.00

Constructed with lightweight components from the racing and mountain bike worlds, the Birdy speed is the benchmark model when it comes to lightweight folding bikes.
Lightweight folding tyres, ultra-light Big Foot cranks from Tune and a Shimano Ultegra transmission with special ‘faster’ ratios make the Birdy speed world record-capable. This top lightweight weighs in at a mere 10.3 kg. The high-quality components, including Ultagra transmission, Filante saddle and Avid V-brakes lend the Birdy speed its thoroughbred racer look.

Airnimal has expanded the options available on the Joey, the foldable fast commuter that can be easily taken out for a 100k week-end ride. There are now four models: ‘Sport’ – The original. 8 speed Shimano Alivio derailleur. ‘Commute’ – The versatile commuter. Using Shimano’s 8 speed Nexus, the gear range is wider and lower at the top end than the ‘Sport’. The 24” (507) wheels give the bike a solid feel and increase the choice of wider profile tyres. RRP £750. ‘Explore’ – The [...]
Strida inventor Mark Sander alerts us that Pacific Cycles, a Taiwanese company that also produces Airnimal and Birdy frames, will build Mark’s full-size folder, the Swivel-Head (above). Not only it folds quickly and compact, but, like the Strida, you can also wheel it folded. On the other size spectrum, Pacific also makes the Carry-me, an 8″-wheel micro-bike that rides astonishingly well. We will stock it in a few weeks.
