After having been beaten last year by 3 seconds, double Vuelta winner Heras was back at the Brompton World Championship on Sunday, riding a rigged S6LX. Whatever the Spanish mechanics did to the bike, it helped save further embarrassment and Heras won by a quarter of a second, i.e. 1/40th of the typical folding time. On the morning of 31st July, Londoners will find six thousand new bikes parked at the docking stations that have been mushrooming on many street corners.
