Retrovelo Otto Duo
Total:
£150.00

From Retrovelo:

Retrovelo decided to take their Ponyvelo chassis and equip it with the legendary Schlumpf 2-speed bottom bracket gear box and thus create a 2-speed turbo Otto Duo. OTTO DUO is not for jelly legs – a “muscle-style” steel pony, made for a quick traffic light race. You’ll have a little smell of stud – but propelled by muscularity and not horse power. Also it is combined with Swiss understatement – reliable as Swiss clockwork, the kick with the heel does the trick to the wheel. You’ll shift the second gear as if you would spur your pony.

In the 70′s Gustav Thoeni and Piero Gros were the kings of the slopes: nobody could attack the slalom gates tighter and faster: they dominated skiing for six years. Then came a young Swede from Lapland who did things differently; rather than trying to cut the sharpest corner at each gate, hitting the blue and red post with his shoulders, Stenmark focused on keeping his slalom as smooth as possible: no hard edges but an elegant flow. It was all over for the Italians. In [...]
The Sunday Times has listed the Dahon Cadenza as a cure for depression, among self help books and omega 3-rich oils: Regular physical activity stimulates the production of neurotransmitter chemicals called endorphins in the brain. They lift your mood and give you more energy, and cycling is a great way to achieve this while saving time getting from A to B. Good point, wrong bike. I don’t know the chemical reasoning, but equally important as simple physical activity, is to ‘open the chest’. Kate Hanley [...]
A red Jopo in Tallin, courtesy of Cycle Chic Estonia. We have just received a new shipment of Jopo’s, in all colours, both single speed and three speed. And we also have a couple of Jakaaris, the Finnish military bicycle, which rivals the Retrovelo in comfort (but not in weight). The Jakaari is offered at £600, with 3 speed and hub dynamo.
