As part of New York’s Bike Month, the Jen Bekman Gallery is showing an exhibition of photographs by John Glassie; a series of bicycle wrecks. From Karambolage, a collection of photographs by Arnold Odermatt. Odermatt spent his career documenting road accidents and capturing highly aestheticised portraits of wrecked vehicles. The images are devoid of any trace of victims, but one cannot avoid thinking about the obscene waste of life. A powerful reminder of the absurdity of kar-kulture.
